What will you do when you come to an open door?

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35 KJV

In Judea, the common time from sowing the seed to harvest was about four months.

The farmer, when he sows his seed, understands he has to wait a significant amount of time before a crop is being produced. However, he is encouraged in sowing. He expects fruit, and his labor is lightened by that expectation. But, the harvest is not immediate.

When we preach the anointed Word of God something happens immediately.

The seed has already sprung up. Little was sown before it produced an abundant harvest. The gospel was just preached to a woman. She went back to the city and testified immediately about it. The Jews believed that one essential characteristic of the Messiah would be that he should be able to tell the secrets of all hearts. So, the people responded. A large number of Samaritans were coming out of the city, and were within sight, and covered the fields. Jesus calls upon the disciples to lift up their eyes and behold; and tells them, that it was not a time for eating and drinking, but for working, since here was such a number of souls to be gathered in.

Lift up your eyes – See the Samaritans coming to hear the gospel.

Right now, we need to look up again. For the fields are white. Grain, when ripe, turns from a green to a yellow or light color, indicating that it is time to reap it. So here we find indication that the gospel was working, and that the harvest was to be gathered in.

  • Be confident and attempt to reach souls daily. Witness often. Share your testimony.
  • The anointed Word of God will make an immediate impact (the woman with issue of blood).
  • We are to expect a revival of people from all religions.
  • One miracle can result in fires of revival in your church, city and region and might be the tipping point to reach many.

Jesus was weary, he was hungry. It was improper to talk with a woman of shady character alone. There was little hope for her, nothing would help her anyway. How many of us would have been satisfied with reasoning like this? Yet Jesus, in spite of his weariness and thirst, and all the difficulties of the situation, went on in His conversion with this woman. And something happened! The city was impacted, and a great harvest was found ready to be gathered in!

Let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

In Revelation 3:8 we read about an open door that no man can shut. I believe that God has opened the doors for us in the region to harvest. Bro. Stoneking saw hands as of angels that ripped back the canopy of darkness that has been over Europe for centuries. Bro. Klinedinst prophesied about doors that once were guarded by the enemy, but now are free to walk through.

God is aligning events as you read this page. Unemployment, financial crisis, unrest and terrorism are before us and we face unprecedented times. Our unsaved families, friends, neighbors and colleagues are looking for answers and hope. You don’t have to be in church to understand that something is happing in this world. This is our opportunity. This is our hour. This is the open door before us.

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties …… men will still say, “This was their finest hour.” Winston Churchill – June 18, 1940

Meet Brock

image

We had a wonderful and mighty move of the Holy Ghost in service tonight with Bro.and Sis.Hill in Shreveport, LA. Lives were changed, hope renewed, and many left encouraged and strengthened!

We also prayed for Brock tonight. While driving his bike under the influence, he was struck by a car going 45 miles an hour.  Brock was officially dead for 15 minutes. God brought him back to life, and he remained in a coma for many days.  After a lengthy hospital stay, Brock returned home.  Today he is attending an Apostolic church.
